Certification Application for Tests & SchoolsNWFA Certified Professionals, Inc. was launched in response to the growing demand for certified industry professionals. NWFACP is a stand-alone corporation that offers a variety of certification programs for the wood flooring industry. Types of CertificationInstallation, Sand & Finish CertificationThe NWFACP’s Installation Certification program recognizes competence and understanding in the installation, sanding, and finishing of wood flooring. This certification process includes both a written and a skills examination. The written examination is administered online. It is a three-hour timed examination.
Skill TestingThere are several ways to take the skills or hands-on portion of the test: 1. Contact your local distributor to take the test at their location.2. You can take the test in conjunction with an NWFA Intermediate or above technical school. 3. You can take the test in conjunction with a Manufacturer school with their permission 4. You can request to take the test at NWFA Headquarters 5. You may request to have a grader come on site to test on your jobsite. If you request Certification in both Installation and Sand & Finish, you only need to take and pass the online written exam one time. Sales Counselor Certification
The Certified Sales Counselor Program is designed to recognize knowledge and
expertise in the sale of flooring products. The Sales Counselor Certification
requires a minimum of three years in flooring sales and successful completion
of the Sales Counselor Written Test.

Inspector CertificationThe NWFACP’s Inspector Certification program recognizes competence and understanding in the inspection of wood flooring. The inspection certification process includes a series of five written examinations. Once all five examinations are completed successfully, provisional certification will be awarded. During this provisional period, the candidate will be required to complete five actual inspection reports and submit them to NWFACP for review. All five reports must be submitted with a 12 month period after notification of provisional certified wood flooring inspector status. After this requirement has been fulfilled, full certification status will be awarded. NWFACP offers an Inspector School. The school is five days and covers all aspects of inspection procedures. The CWFI Test is optional at the end of the school.
